Start from the floor, not the chase
A floor is a stated minimum value, not the most likely outcome. Hypothetically, a $300 card from a $500 pack represents a $200 shortfall in estimated card value before selling costs. Actual cash proceeds depend on the available exit.
More openings do not guarantee recovery
No fixed number of openings guarantees a result close to EV. More purchases increase total spending and can increase total losses. A smaller pack price limits spending per opening but does not establish better odds or value.
Signs it's time to stop
Chasing a loss with a bigger pack. Ripping to 'win back' a bad night. Hiding what you spent. Any of those means stepping away for a while. If ripping stops being fun, talk to someone you trust, and consult the National Council on Problem Gambling's current helpline page for US support options.
